Wediko Children’s Services joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement and pledges to raise $5,000 in one day (November 28, 2017, #GivingTuesday) for mental health and therapeutic programs which benefit children and their families.
We understand that children who need extra support do better when that need is identified early and addressed effectively. In Boston, Wediko provides, in addition to individual and family therapy, program and school consultation to build supportive learning communities so that all students have what they need to succeed, despite experiences with trauma, grief and loss, and barriers to school success. In New York, we screen all students for trauma and adverse childhood experiences so that we can proactively offer support, knowing the impact these experiences can have in the immediate and on long-term outcomes. In New Hampshire, we provide residential care to students from across the country who faces incredible challenges – so that they can return to their families, schools, and communities healthier and happier.
Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Wediko believes every child is capable of achieving social, emotional, and academic success. Your gift provides children with the opportunity to have fun, learn, make friends, and feel safe. Together, we join with families, schools, and the community to help children live happier, healthier lives. We appeal to your support to raise much-needed money on November 28, #GivingTuesday, to enable us to continue assisting children and families we serve. To donate, please visit www.wediko.org/give
