About Experiential -ACTIVE- Learning  |  Employment at Wediko

"Sometimes they throw tantrums.  Sometimes they hit or kick another kid.  Sometimes they call a counselor an ugly name.
Counselors and supervisors seem to have an endless supply of patience."

Our staff is dedicated to serving and learning about children whose development is "out on a limb." This steadfastness is required to implement intensive group treatment coupled with detailed programming and individualized clinical / educational intervention plans. A 2:1 child:adult ratio is maintained in order to maximize program effectiveness.

Approximately 130 staff members, from various parts of the country, bring a broad range of talents and backgrounds to Wediko each summer. A substantial number of these individuals hold advanced degrees or are currently enrolled in graduate level programs in psychology, special education, social work or medicine. Other personnel work with vulnerable children on a year-round basis or are pursuing human service degrees in undergraduate programs.

The senior staff consists of clinical psychologists, social workers, special educators, activity specialists and experiential learning experts with many years of Wediko expertise. The staff also includes registered nurses, a consulting psychiatrist, a Clinical director and an Administrative Director.
