Wediko’s 5th Annual Century Ride, held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, was a great success! 50 riders joined us for this important fundraising event.
Dinner on Friday night included a delicious home cooked meal and presentation by former cycling Olympian John Allis. Riders got to know each other while also having an opportunity for one last maintenance check, courtesy of Eastern Mountain Sports and Andy’s Cycles!
Riders enjoyed a beautiful late summer day as they took off from Windsor, NH on their way to Boston. Although the hills proved to be anything but “all downhill” riders persevered knowing that the money they raised would help children and families to successfully manage social, emotional, and academic difficulties that are getting in their way. Money raised through this annual event is directed towards ‘green’ projects, which reduce our program costs, allowing even more money, year after year, to be directed towards expanding programs and services.
We’re already planning for next year’s ride – save the date: Saturday, September 21, 2012. Once again we will provide transportation to NH on Friday night, dinner and overnight accomodations for riders and volunteers, and a fully supported ride route, complete with rest stops, cue cards, and SAG vehicle.
Registration for 2013 is open!
