Wediko’s Inaugural Stair Climb – Climb For Hope is on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at International Place in downtown Boston, MA (8:30 am-12 pm).  The Climb For Hope is a thrilling event benefitting Wediko Children’s Services. By joining the Climb For Hope, you are making the commitment to restore hope in the lives of children and families who face difficult obstacles. On April 29, 2012, hundreds of people will stand up for these children and families and climb the 46 stories of International Place (Participants will take the elevator down). Join us for one of the most unique events in Boston. Although not unlike a 5k, the Climb For Hope will challenge you in a whole new way! Come race, run, or walk to make a difference in the lives of children and families!
 
General Event Information

The registration fee is $35 ($40 after April 1, $45 day of) and the minimum fundraising requirement is $100. Registration fee and minimum fundraising goal are required per person in order to participate in the event, regardless if participating as an individual or as a member of a team.

All participants are professionally timed and ranked by timing chips. All climbers receive an official Climb of Hope tshirt. Refreshments provided. Fundraising incentives will be given to top fundraisers. Start early and you will easily meet your fundraising goal!

Climbers, volunteers, friends, and family are all welcome at the post-party immediately following the climb at HOWL AT THE MOON (across the street from International Place).

Day of Registration ($45) and Participant Check-in: 8:30-9:30 am. Climbing will begin at 9:30 am.

Many of our clients feel the 'weight of the world' on their backs. Their courage and determination to make transformational change is inspiring. Join as a participant in the 'Weight of the World' division and climb the stairs carrying the 'weight of the world' on your back. (We'll supply the 18lb backpack) While helping Wediko restore hope for so many, you'll inspire your fellow climbers as well!

Firefighters - Create a team with your colleagues and compete against other companies for fun prizes in the largest team category and fastest climber (in full gear).

Work in a school or restaurant - Start or join a team to add to the fun & competition.

Start your fundraising today! Create your personal fundraising page & begin competing for great prizes! We encourage you to raise as much as you can for this cause! It's easier than you think. Start spreading the word on what you've signed up to do and your fundraising goal! It will less than five minutes to get started!

If you've joined a team, you can have one fundraising page or several. If you have one team page/account, the team must raise at least the equivalent of $100 per team member/registered climber in order to participate at the event.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Wediko Children's Services is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization. Please make checks payable to Wediko Children's Services (and include your name on the memo line to assure credit towards your goal).

The registration fee does not count towards the fundraising minimum and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Your minimum pledge requirement is due on or before the event date. If on the day of the event, the minimum requirement has not been met, you will have the option of providing cash or check at the event day check-in.

Training

It's best to train in a well ventilated stairway. Hydrate before and after. On the day of the event, there will be several water stops in designated stairwells to keep you hydrated. Water will not be allowed on the stairs but will be restricted to the water stops inside the doorways. Participants are not permitted to walk down the stairs. If you need to stop the climb before the top, there will be volunteers and medical personnel available to assist you.
