Wediko Team Successfully Completes 2010 Boston Marathon!

On April 19th, our Wediko Marathon Team of 16 runners successfully completed the 114th Boston Marathon®! It was a beautiful day for all who ran and supported Wediko. As an official charity, our team raised over $63,000! We assembled an invaluable team of runners, donors, and cheerleaders who made our inaugural marathon one we won’t forget

The stage is now set for next year's run!  Wediko will be accepting applications for the 2011 Marathon Team beginning in September 2010. We are also looking for 'qualified' runners who are interested in raising money and benefitting from our running program to join our team.

Benefits of being a member of the Wediko Marathon Team:

• Guaranteed race number for the 2011 Boston Marathon on April 18, 2011
• Connect with at least 14 other team members who are committed to training for a marathon and raising money to support Wediko
• Receive coaching and fundraising support from Kate Patton Regal of Wediko who has run Boston 12 times and raised over $130,000 for charity 
• For team members in the Boston area, there will be regularly scheduled team training runs
• Fundraising handbook produced by Wediko with lots of strategies to assist you in raising money, including access to online fundraising
• Wediko Marathon Team running singlet, pre-race pasta dinner, post-marathon party and other surprises
• Frequent support from Wediko coaches and other team members on training and fundraising concerns at our Wediko Marathon Team Facebook page

Responsibilities of being a member of the Wediko Marathon Team:

• Raise a minimum of $3,250 to support Wediko Children’s Services ($750 for qualified runners) 
• Be physically able to complete the marathon in under 6 hours
• If you are local to Boston, attend a couple of Wediko Marathon Team meetings between November 2010 and April 2011  
• $250 B.A.A. race application fee that does not count towards your fundraising total
