School-Based Services
- 28 years of partnership between Boston Public Schools and Wediko’s Boston School-Based Program
- In 2007-2008:
- 1,754 students received Wediko clinical services
- 289 families received family therapy
- 77 families attended one or more Parent Support Groups
- 23,641 hours of direct clinical services provided
- 600 students participated in Side by Side social skills groups
- 8 colleges & universities have placed student interns at Wediko over the past 5 years
- 50 clinicians, including social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists, provide services each week
- 19 schools receive Wediko clinical services each week in 2008-2009
- 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, clinicians are available to talk to clients in crisis
- 52% reduction in student suspensions at one urban elementary school after 3 years of participation in the Side by Side project
